Pleads that he is being expected to melt silver plate on the same terms as he had agreed for melting clipped coin, but the operation is three times as costly: he is losing money and requests a higher fee.


[Note on dating: MINT00018 (I.194) states that this petition was referred to the Mint on 4 August 1696; in the petition itself Ambrose refers to silver plate he has melted since 4 May.]
