[See Westfall, 754, who suggests these documents may have been collected by Newton as master in reference to a dispute about control over melting with Craven Peyton, warden from 1708-1714. No documentation relating to such a dispute now survives, but there is ample evidence that Newton and Peyton disagreed about almost everything.]

Described in entries 65(a) - 66(a) of the Appendix to the Eighth Report of the Royal Commission on Historical Manuscripts (London, 1881).
