Catalogue Entry: MINT01707
A brief discourse showing the causes of the controversies between the Warden and Master of the Mint
Notes
[See Westfall, 754, who suggests these documents may have been collected by Newton as master in reference to a dispute about control over melting with Craven Peyton, warden from 1708-1714. No documentation relating to such a dispute now survives, but there is ample evidence that Newton and Peyton disagreed about almost everything.]
