In reply to the Council of Trade's reference of 2 December 1703, the Mint agree that there should be a uniform rate for foreign coins throughout America to prevent plantations undermining each other's trade. Recommend universal adoption of the Massachusetts standard. A table of intrinsic values of Spanish, Mexican and Peruvian coins by English standards is annexed.
