Gentlemen

My Lord Treasurer Commands me to transmit to you the inclosed petition of Mr Oadham praying a Tryall as to his qualifications for the place of Assay Master of the Mint, his Lordship is pleased to direct you to cause a Tryall to be made before you by him & the rest of the Petitioners for the said Office who have been Referr'd to You (if they desire it) And that you will then make your Report to his Lordship which of them you conceive to be the most expert & fittest person for that Imployment. I am &ca 2d April 1713
