May it please Yo^r. Lordpp

In obedience to yo^r. Lordpps ord^r. {sic} Reference of 23^th. Nov^r. last we have enquired into y^e Case of M^r Anthony Redhead late Master + Worker of the Mint at Norwich + find it truely stated in y^e annexed paper on w^ch. y^e s^d. Reference is endorsed, And whereas M^r. Redhead in a Discharge of a Debt of 2497^li: 16^s: 03^d owing to M^r. Leonard Blofield a Rec^r. of Land Taxes in Norfolk produces three Rec^ts. for 2500^li: paid out of that Mint to M^r. Blofields Ord^r. we find that those Rec^ts. are in y^e form of private Rec^ts. so that they cannot be allow'd by an Aud^r. in M^r. Redheads Acc^ts.. If any thing be due upon y^m. it is to be recover'd in a Court of Iustice by M^r. Redhead or by him or them who shall answ^r. M^r. Redheads Debt to her Ma^ty., But upon examining the matter we are humbly of opinion for the reasons especially reported in another annexed paper that y^e mony paid upon those Receipts hath been accounted for + endorsed upon y^e printed Mint Ticketts + that the Rec^ts. are thereby voyd + should have been Cancell'd, + M^r. Redhead himselfe insists not peremptorily on y^m. but submitts \ym./ to yo^r. Lordps Wisdome{illeg}.

Wee humbly Conceive therefore that for bringing these matters to an Issue y^e acc^ts. of y^e Country Mints should be passed w^th.out regard to these Rec^ts. + M^r. Neale set in super, and we further lay before yo^r. Lordpp that M^r. Redhead at the Conclusion of that Mint was indebted to M^r. Chaplyn a Rec^r. of Land Taxes for 2573^oz. 5^{dw^t.}. of Hammer'd Mony at 5^s. ꝑ ounce the sum̄e of 643: 6: 3 and that in M^r. Chaplyn's acc^t. w^ch. is past + declared + a Quietus obteyn'd, M^r. Redhead is sett in super for this Debt at 5^s. 8^d ꝑ oz whereas M^r. Neale should have been sett in super + that only at 5: ꝑ oz and that M^r. Blofields acc^t. is now passing
