By the Bills of parcells several of wch I have seen the copper hithert{illeg}|o| imported cost about 1312 pr lwt & some about \almost 14d/13 {sic}34d \or 14d/. {illeg} The Blaks of late {illeg} being hardned round the edges by the cutter & not nealed after the cutting, are apt to crack {illeg} in the stam one the edges in stamping {but} if |ye| {illeg}|c|opper be not sufficiently fine, & this cracking has been promoted by two parcells of copper bought of Mr Briggs: {illeg}|b|ut the{illeg}|s|e cracks are small & by making the copper a very little finer may be prevented.

And then the coinage may go on so that\provided/ the barrs imported bee smooth & cleane & the blanks beare the Press wthout stamping cracking \the Moneyers pick out the brockage/. And in the mean time {illeg}|if| any other Proposalls be made for coining money by an higher assay, wch the Proposer will abide by, the Propos{illeg}|a|lls may be compared \by your Lops/ wth wt {illeg}|Ap|pleby & Mr Hin{t}|e|s will undertake.

And that the Moneyers be commanded to pick out all the {illeg}|b|rockage.
