The value of French pistoles stated

Pistoles one with another weigh 11.^dwt 7 $\frac{1}{4}$ grains as I find by weighing them whereby if they were standard, a pistole would be worth 17^s: 1^d $\frac{4}{5}$ in our money. but they have been found by former Assays of old pistoles $\frac{1}{4}$ of a grain worse than standard; & the new coynd pistoles upon Assaying prove $\frac{3}{4}$ of a grain worse by which last Assays pistoles are worth but 17^s.

Double pistoles being less worn than single ones, are one with another, about one grain heavier than two single ones; & so may be valued at 34:^s 1^d a piece. but the number of them is inconsiderable

There are some pistoles three or four grains lighter than the rest, or more. which are not worth more than ^s16: 11^d. $\frac{3}{4}$ each
