The Information of Francis Batho late of Leek in the County of Stafford Baker and now Prisoner in the Common Goal of Stafford for the County of Stafford taken upon Oath before William Nabbs Esqr one of his Majestys Iustices of the peace of the said County of Stafford the 30th. day of November 1698

[2]The said Francis Batho being this day Examined upon Oath before me saith that about 3 years and half since he was present with and saw George Hulme of Longer in the County of Stafford Butcher and Moses Burton of Longner aforesaid Butcher at the house of one Thomas Bagshaw at Longner aforesaid clip impair and diminish about 10li of the Current Coyn of this Kingdom. And the said Francis Batho further saith that about 4 yeares and a half since he was present and saw John Fox of Oncott in the said County of stafford yeoman Symon Harris of Oncott aforesaid Husbandman and Sarah wife of the said Symon Harris (at the house of the said Symon Harris in Oncott aforesaid{)} clipp impair and dimish about 5li of the Current Coyn of this Realm. And the said Francis Batho further informeth that about 4 yeares and a half since he was present and saw Ionathon of <86r> Wooton under Weever in the said County of Stafford Baker at Leek in the said County of Stafford clip impair and diminish about 6li of the Current Coyn of this Kingdom and the said Francis Batho further informeth upon Oath that about 3 yeares last he was present and saw Sarah Gold of the parish of Ashton Field aforesaid clip about 15s of the Current Coyn of this Realm and the said Francis Batho further Informeth upon Oath that about 4 years and three quarters since he was present and saw Ellen Findlow of the said parrish of Ashtonfield widdow in the parish of Ashton field aforesaid clipp impair and diminish about 4li of the Current Coyn of this Realme And that about 3 yeares and a half since he saw John Baker of Mould in the said County of Stafford Yeoman at Mould aforesaid clip about 10li of the Current Coyn of this Realme. and that about 4 yeares since he saw William Reddfearn of Burntbooth in the said parish of Ashtonfield and County aforesaid husbandman at the said parish of Ashtonfield clipp about 6li. 10s of the Current Coyn of this Realme. And that about 5 yeares last past he saw William Kendrick of Arthur Cloud at Leek aforesaid clipp about 3li of the Current Coyn of this Realm. And that about 4 yeares and a half since he saw Thomas Brunt of the Banktopp in the said parish of ashtonfield husbandman clip about 40s of the Current Coyn of this Realme. and that about 4 yeares + a Quarter since he saw John Hatfield of the Hoult in the said County of Stafford yeoman and Ann Standley wife of Ieramy Standley of Leek aforesaid (at Leek aforesaid{)} clipt about 9li. of the Current Coyn of this Kingdom And the said Francis Batho further informeth that about 4 years since he was present and saw John Clowes of Leed aforesaid Husbandman and Thomas Ginders of Hulme in the said County Yeoman at Leek aforesaid clipp about 26li of the Current Coyn of this Realm. and that on or about the 20 day of January last past he saw William Dagnill of Leek in the said County Weaver Isaac Hopkins of Ippstones in the said County Yeoman and Isaac Hopkins the younger of Ippstones aforesaid at Leek aforesaid make about 7li of Counterfeit Mill'd money. and that about 5 years since this Informant he saw Randulph Bagnall of Meer Lane and in the said County of Stafford make about 5li of Counterfeit money. And that about a year and a half ago he was Ioseph Ball of Stubby Lane in the said County of Stafford Husband man at the house of Randalph Bagnall at Meer Lane end in the said County Coyn about 8li of Counterfeit Milld money. And that about 2 years 12 since he saw <86v> William Rowley of Nutton in the said County of Stafford Husband man at Nutton aforesaid Coyn about 40s of Counterfeit money. And that this Informant saw Thomas Sheppard of Nutton aforesaid in the said County yeoman at Nutton aforesaid Coyn about 6li of Counterfeit money. And that this Informant saw one Clewlow Grindlow (about one year ago) of Leek Freeth in the said County of Stafford yeoman John Sault of the said parish of Ashtonfield Husbandman William Nadm of the same parish Yeoman Iacob Clewes of the same Blacksmith and Thomas Hardsfield of the same Husbandman at the parish of Ashtonfield aforesaid Coyn about 15ll. of Counterfeit milld money And that about 4 years since he saw John Daniell of the parish of Audley in the said County of stafford Husbandman and Sarah his wife at Audley aforesaid Coyn about 12li of Counterfeit money     And that about 3 yeares and a half since he saw John Robotham of the parish of Audley aforesaid Husbandman Edward Madder of Bettley in the said County of Stafford Inn Keeper and Elizabeth Hall wife of      Hall in the said parish of audley at the said parish of audly Coyn about 3l of Counterfeit money. And that about 4 years ago he saw Peter Sparrow of the said parish of audley Husbandman Edward Laton of Nutton Heath in the said County of Stafford Husbandman and                Paddyton of Nutton aforesaid Widdow (at Nutton aforesaid{)} Coyn about 10li of Counterfeit money. And that about 5 years past he saw Thomas Allen of Smallbrook in the said County Yeoman and Mary Allen of the same place Spinster at Small Brook aforesaid Coyn about 4li of Counterfeit money    And that about a year since this Informant saw Thomas Lees of the parish of Carswall in the said County of Stafford, George Redborn of the parish of ashtonfield aforesaid Husbandman and Margt. Lees of the said parish of Carsa Spinster at the parish of Carswell aforesaid Coyn about 11li of Counterfeit money
