Proposals for preserving & encreasing the current coyn of this Kingdo.

It being the business of the Officers of the Mint to preserve & encrease the coyn of this kingdom & for that end it {illeg}|b|e{illeg}|ing| fit that they should understand ye \course of trade in relation to the/ importation & exportation of gold & silver by ye Merchant, that they may be able \& be able upon occasions/ to give an account thereof to the government. it is proposed that no gold or silver \(except pieces of 8)/ be exported but what has been first brought to ye Mint & there \examined &/ allowed to be forreig{n} gold or silver & entred as such & at ye choise of the{illeg} importer Merchant either coyned or marked \in ye Ingot/ wth a mark provided for yt purpose. For wch {illeg}|e|nd {illeg} {all} peices {sic} of 8 & other forreign monies \& {P}&/ou{nds}s\ or Virgin/ shall be first melted into Ingots \in the Mint/ the Merchant paying        pr lwt for the melting. B|B|ut no Ingots besides Spanish barrs shall be received at ye Mint as forreig silver
