|1| About a month before the triall of the monies in the Pix, his Maj^ty or his\in/ Council appoints a day & place for that Triall & names (if he pleases) the Lords of the Council before whom it shall be tried & notice thereof is given sent \in writing/ from the Council to the Lord Keeper & Lords Comm^rs of the Treasury & from the Treasury to the Officers of the Excheq^r & Mint. |The place of late has been in y^e Vsher of the Exchequer's house.|

|3| |And| Vpon the day of the Tryall the Chancellour of the Excheq^r provides a dinner for the Iury. The place has usually been at the Dogg Tavern in Palace Yard.

|2| |And|lso|| \then/ The Chancellour of the Excheq^r sends an Order in writing for the standard Troy weights & the Indented Tryall pieces of his Maj^ts crown gold monies & standard silver monies kept in the Treasury of the Excheq^r to be delivered upon the day of the Triall for the use of the Iury.

At Florence & Leghon the Ecu silver Ducat is worth {illeg}^lires goes for 7 lires & is worth 6|5|^s 4^d_∟63 & therefore {illeg}|the| Lire of|is| worth 9^d_∟23 And there Pistole goes for {illeg}|2|0 lires or 15^s. 4$\frac{2}{3}$^d.

At Genoa five the c|C|roisat worth goes for 7$\frac{1}{2}$ lires & is worth 6^s. 6^d$\frac{3}{4}$ & therefore the Ecu lires of Genoa is worth {illeg}|10|$\frac{1}{2}$$\frac{1}{28}$^d.

At Naples the Ducat is 10 Carlins & is worth {illeg} 3^s 4_∟43^d, & therefore the Carlin of Naples is 4^d_∟043.

At Genoa the Croisat goes for 7$\frac{1}{2}$ lires & is worth 6^s 6$\frac{3}{4}$^d & therefore the Lire is|o|f Genoa is 10 $\frac{1}{2}$$\frac{15}{28}$^d & there the Pistole is valued at 17$\frac{1}{2}$ lires that is 15^s. 3$\frac{3}{4}$^d 4$\frac{3}{8}$^d.

At Florence & Legorn the silver Ducat goes for 7 lires & is worth 5^s. 4_∟63^d & therefore the Lire of Florence is 9^d_∟23 And there & at Legorn the Pistole goes for 20 lires or 15^s 4^d$\frac{2}{3}$

At Rome Naples the Ducat of silver goes for 10 carlins & is worth {illeg} 3^s. 4_∟43^d |[| {sic}& thefore the Carlin is worth 4^d_∟043. And there the Pistole goes for as I am informed {a}|i|s valued at 4$\frac{1}{2}$ Ducats, that is 15^s. 4_∟935^d

At Rome the \three Iulios make a/ \is there/& the\ Teston/ is worth 1^s 6_∟2^d & there the \{illeg}/ Pistole of Italy goes for 30 tne Testons or 15^s 2^d & the Spanish Pistole for 16 6^d more. |But the Ecu of Rome were| \three Ecus are ten Testons, the Ecu I cannot yet procure to be assayed. So that gold seems to be lower in Italy then in France or Germany.

At Venice the Ducat goes for 6$\frac{1}{5}$ lires & is worth 3^s 6_∟^d42 And therefore the Lire of Venice is worth 6_∟{illeg}|52|^d. And there the Pistole goes for 28 lires or 15^s 2$\frac{1}{2}$^d, the Sequin for 17 lires or 9^s 2^d$\frac{5}{6}$ & the Hungary Ducat for {illeg}|1|6 lires \or/ 8^s 8^d$\frac{1}{3}$.

At Ancona in the Gulph of Venice the Hungary Ducat goes for 17 Iules or 8^s 9_∟4^d, the Pistole of Ital Pistole of Italy for 30 Iules or 15^s. 2^d & the Spanish Pistole for 31 Iules or 15^s 8^d.
