William Hagley: The Deposition of William Hagley 2 March 1704/5

|Middx Ss.| The Deposicon of Willm Hagley of S^t. Martins in the Feilds taken before me this 2.^d day of March ^r 170$\frac{4}{5}$.

This Depon.^t saith that about amonth agoe he app^rehended one Elizabeth Lucas upon suspicon of receiveing some Silver plate that had been Stoln from the R.^t Hon.^ble M^r Secretary Harley where upon she was com̄ited to the Poultrey Compter, (where she remaines at p^resent) And that upon Monday or Tuesday last this Depon.^t Examining the said Eliz. Lucas about the plate, She confessed to him, that she used to utter Counterfeit money for other persons, and took out of he {sic} pocket a Counterfeit Sixpence and some time after a Counterfeit halfe Crown out of her Bosom which she p^retended she had from one M^rs Bayley, who she said was fled from Justice upon her haveing notice that the said Lucas was committed to the Poultry Compter                                    Will Hagley Capt. jurat coram me anno et die p^red           J : Stanley
