|Willts Ss| The Informaion of Steven Holloway now a prisoner in the goal at Fisherton Anger in y^e S^d county of Willts taken upon oath before me this 9^th day of Novemb: 1703

This Inform^tt upon his oath saith that within y^e space of \a month/ last past George Scott of Malmsbury in this country Cloathier and W^m: Scott of Christan Malford in the same county Yeoman - - came severall times to this Inform^tt^s house at Christian Malford afores^d and consulted with this informant about counterfeiting y^e currant coyn of this Realm & after severall tryalls about makeing - - - of counterfeit money they the S^d George Scott and W:^m Scott did at y^e S^d house hous of this informant in Christan Malford afores^d make about forty peices of money in imitation of Shillings of y^e currant coyn of this realme, and that y^e said George Scott and W:^m Scott did severall times indeavour to make crown peices in imitation of y^e curr^tt coyn of this realm butt could never finish y^e same to pass currantly because they could never make y^e same compleatly, like y^e currant crown peices of this kingdome this Inform^tt saith to the best of his remembrance it was y^e 6^th of May last at Chippeham fair one Robert Emett living at a park as this Inform^t doth beleive <1v> within the S^d parish of Calne in the S^d county of Willts came to this informant and Recc^d: of him four or five shillings in counterfeit money which this Inform^tt told him was such & y^e S^d Rob^t: Emett knew the same to be so, and took y^e same in order to putt y^e same shillings of, for good & Lawfull coyne of this kingdom, butt whether y^e S^d Rob:^tt Emett did putt y^e same of as such this Inform^tt cannott tell and further this Inform^tt saith that Rob^t: Hort of Calne in y^e S^d county of Willts maulster did about whitsuntide last att his own house in Calne afores^d in the presence of this Inform^tt make & coyn severall shills of mixt metall in imitation of Shillings of y^e currant coyn of this realm Jurat die et anno prius infra script: cor me Jo: Young Stephen Holloway
