Having Resolved for y^e Preventing of Culling Clipping Casting & otherwise Counterfeiting of our Current Coynes to make Our Gold & Silver Mony's for the future by way of the Mill & Presse w^th Letters or Graynings about the Edges or thicknesse of the Peeices {sic} according to their respective Sizes lesser in Compasse than formerly (for the better takeing y^e. Impression of the Stamp's) & more emboss't, And haveing in ord^r. there unto Appoynted certain Buildings Horse Mills, Tooles, & Engines to be made & sett up in Our Mint w^th.in Our Tower of London; Our Mill & Pleasure is & Wee doe hereby req^r. & Authorize You, when the s^d. Buildings Tooles, & Engines shall be ready & fitt for our Service to Coyne or Cause to be Coyned in the said new way, the s^d. severall sorts of Silver and Gold Coynes hereafter menconed (that is to say) One Peeice {sic} of Five shillings, A Halfe Crown Peeice {sic}, A shillings & sixpence in Sivler And one Peeice {sic} of Five Pounds, one Peeice {sic} of twenty shillings, And one Peeice {sic} of tenn shillings in Gold w^th. our Portraiture & these words Carolus 2^dus Dei Gra: on the one side, And the Armes of our Kingdom in Four severall Escutcheons Crowned w^th. the Year of our Lord & these Words Mag: Brit: Fra: et Hib: Rex on y^e other side according to the Drafts <278v> Presented by Henry Slingesby Esq^r. Deputy unto our Master Worker of the Mint, both for Our Gold & Silver Coynes, & approved on by us, together w^th. such Mottoes & Inscriptions upon y^e Edges or thicknesse of {illeg}|the| Gold and Silver Peeice {sic} as You shall receive direccons therein from Vs by our trusty & Wellbeloved servant Henry Slingesby Esq^r. Our further Will & pleasure is And Wee doe hereby req^r & Authorize You to make the twenty shillings peeice {sic} of Gold Coyned by {illeg}|w|ay of the Mill and Presse, Iust twenty shillings in vallue & so the rest of our Gold Coynes accordingly in proporcon after the rate & vallue allow'd by our late Proclamacon for the raiseing of the price of Gold in this our Kingdom And this shall be sufficient Warr^t. unto You & everyone of You for so doeing, Given at Whitehall this p^r.sent 17^th. day of May. 1662
