Quatenus <lb xml:id="l2"/>ad scientias Mathematicas pertinet, æquum est ut a contem<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l3"/>platione Physicâ quàm maximè abstraham. Et hac ita<choice><orig>qꝫ</orig><reg>que</reg></choice> <lb xml:id="l4"/>ratione singulas ejus propositiones e principijs abstractis et <lb xml:id="l5"/>attendenti satis notis, more Geometrarum, strictè demon<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l6"/>strare statui. Deinde cùm hæc doctrina ad Philosophi<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l7"/>am naturalem quodammodo affinis esse censeatur, quatenus <lb xml:id="l8"/>ad plurima ejus Phænomena enucleanda accommodatur, <lb xml:id="l9"/>adeo<choice><orig>qꝫ</orig><reg>que</reg></choice> cùm usus ejus exinde præsertim elucescat et <lb xml:id="l10"/>principiorum certitudo <del type="strikethrough">confirm</del> fortasse confirmetur, <lb xml:id="l11"/>non gravabor propositiones ex abundanti experimentis <lb xml:id="l12"/>etiam illustrare: ita tamen ut hoc laxius disceptan<lb xml:id="l13"/>di genus in Scholia dispositum, cum priori per Lem<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l14"/>mata, propositiones et corallaria tradito non confundatur.</p>

<p xml:id="par10">Præterea cum corpus hic speculandum proponitur non <lb xml:id="l24"/>quatenus est Substantia Physica sensibilibus qualitatibus prædita <lb xml:id="l25"/>sed tantùm quatenus est quid extensum mobile et impe<lb xml:id="l26"/>netrabile; ita<choice><orig>qꝫ</orig><reg>que</reg></choice> non definivi pro more philosophico, sed <lb xml:id="l27"/>abstrahendo sensibiles qualitates (quas etiam Philosophi ni fallor <lb xml:id="l28"/>abstrahere debent, et menti tanquam varios modos cogitandi <lb xml:id="l29"/>a motibus corporum excitatos tribuere,) posui tantùm propri<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l30"/>etates quæ ad motum localem requiruntur. Adeò ut <lb xml:id="l31"/>vice Corporis Physici possis figuras abstractas intelligere <lb xml:id="l32"/>quemadmodum Geometræ contemplantur cùm motum <lb xml:id="l33"/>ipsis tribuunt, ut fit in prop 4 &amp; 8, lib 1 Elem Euclid. <lb xml:id="l34"/>Et in demonstratione definitionis 10<hi rend="superscript">mæ</hi>, lib 11 debet fieri; <lb xml:id="l35"/>siquidem ea inter definitiones vitiosè recensetur &amp; potiùs <lb xml:id="l36"/>inter propositiones demonstrari debuit, nisi fortè pro <lb xml:id="l37"/>axiomate habeatur.</p>
<p xml:id="par11">Definivi præterea motum esse loci mutationem,<hi rend="superscript">b</hi> propterea <lb xml:id="l38"/>quòd motus, transitio, translatio, migratio &amp;c videntur <lb xml:id="l39"/>esse voces synonymæ. Sin malueris esto motus transitio <lb xml:id="l40"/><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">vel translatio</add> corporis de loco in locum.</p>

Extensio vicem substantialis subjecti gerit in <lb xml:id="l661"/>quâ forma corporis per divinam voluntatem con<lb xml:id="l662"/>servatur; et effectus <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">iste</add> divinæ voluntatis est forma <lb xml:id="l663"/>sive ratio formalis corporis denominans omnem <lb xml:id="l664"/>spatij dimensionem in qua producitur esse corpus.</p>
<p xml:id="par47">2 Hæc entia non minùs forent realia quàm <lb xml:id="l665"/>corpora, nec minùs dici possent substantiæ. Quicquid <lb xml:id="l666"/>enim realitatis corporibus inesse credimus, hoc fit <lb xml:id="l667"/>propter eorum Phænomena et sensibiles qualitates. <lb xml:id="l668"/>Et proinde hæc Entia, cùm forent omnium istius<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l669"/>modi qualitatum capacia, et possent ea omnia <lb xml:id="l670"/>phænomena <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">similiter</add> exhibere, non minùs realia esse judicare<lb xml:id="l671"/>mus, si modò existerent. <p xml:id="par48">3 Inter extensionem et ei inditam formam talis ferè <lb xml:id="l673"/>est Analogia qualem Aristotelici inter materiam <lb xml:id="l674"/>primam et formas substantiales ponunt; quatenus nempe dicunt eandem <lb xml:id="l675"/>materiam esse omnium formarum capacem, et denomina<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l676"/>tionem numerici corporis a formâ mutuari. Sic enim pono <lb xml:id="l677"/>quamvis formam per quælibet spatia transferri posse, et <lb xml:id="l678"/>idem corpus ubi<choice><orig>qꝫ</orig><reg>que</reg></choice> denominare.</p>
<p xml:id="par49">4 Differunt autem quod extensio (cùm sit et quid, et quale <lb xml:id="l679"/>et quantum) habet plus realitatis quàm materia prima, at<choice><orig>qꝫ</orig><reg>que</reg></choice> <lb xml:id="l680"/>etiam quod intelligi potest, queinadmodum et forma quam <lb xml:id="l681"/>corporibus assignavi.
