                <p xml:id="par1">Fol. 3. lin. 1. After the words [the body of this present Act] add <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="2"/></p>
                
                <p rend="indent10" xml:id="par2">— with relation to the Mint or Mints in England.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par3">And whereas by the Act of Vnion made in the sixt year of <lb xml:id="l1"/>Queen Ann, A Mint is to be continued in Scotland under the same <lb xml:id="l2"/>Rules as the Mint in England: Be it further enacted tha<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add> all the <lb xml:id="l3"/>money arising <supplied reason="damage">in</supplied> Scotland by this Act shall be Issued out of his <lb xml:id="l4"/><choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> Exchequer to the Master &amp; Worker or Masters &amp; Workers <lb xml:id="l5"/>of his <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majesty's</expan></choice> Mint in Scotland for the use &amp; service of that <lb xml:id="l6"/>Mint by such Order or Warrant as the like moneys arising <lb xml:id="l7"/>in England by the Acts for encouragement of Coinage are issued <lb xml:id="l8"/>to the Master &amp; Works of his <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majesty's</expan></choice> Mint in England, to be <lb xml:id="l9"/>kept is his <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majesty's</expan></choice> Office of Receipt in the said Mint in Scotland <lb xml:id="l10"/>under the keys of the Master &amp; Worker Warden &amp; Comptroller <lb xml:id="l11"/>of the said Mint for the time being, &amp; issued out thence from <lb xml:id="l12"/>time to tim<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add> according to the manner &amp; course of this <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l13"/>Mint in England.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4">And it is hereby further enacted that there shall not be issued <lb xml:id="l14"/>out of the Exchequer of the said moneys in any one year <del type="strikethrough">above <lb xml:id="l15"/>the summ of <space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="15"/> pounds</del> for the fees &amp; salaries of <lb xml:id="l16"/>the Officers of the said Mint &amp; Officers who pass the accounts <lb xml:id="l17"/>of the said moneys, &amp; towards the providing maintaining &amp; re<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l18"/>pairing of the houses offices &amp; buildings &amp; other Incidents of the <lb xml:id="l19"/><del type="strikethrough">said</del> Mint necessary for assaying melting down &amp; coinage above <lb xml:id="l20"/>the summ of <space dim="horizontal" unit="chars" extent="16"/> pounds sterling money, &amp; the <lb xml:id="l21"/>overplus of the said moneys so kept or to be kept as aforesaid <lb xml:id="l22"/>shall be employed for &amp; towards the expence wast &amp; charge <lb xml:id="l23"/>of assaying melting down &amp; coinage &amp; of the necessary incidents <lb xml:id="l24"/>which accompany the same &amp; not otherwise. <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="4"/></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5">NB. By the Act of the first <choice><abbr>Parliam<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>Parliament</expan></choice> of K. <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ames VII chap. XXIV there <lb xml:id="l25"/>were allowed for salaries of Officers 10560 pounds Scots; for the Fabric, <lb xml:id="l26"/>new tools &amp; incidents relating to the Mint 1106<hi rend="superscript">li</hi>. 13<hi rend="superscript">s</hi>. 4<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> scots; <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">&amp;</add> for the <lb xml:id="l27"/>Clerk of the Bullion 333<hi rend="superscript">li</hi>. 6<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> 8<hi rend="superscript">d</hi>: in all 12000<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> <del type="over">s</del><add place="over" indicator="no">S</add>cots, <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> recconing the <lb xml:id="l28"/>sixty shillings piece at 4<hi rend="superscript">s</hi> 4<hi rend="superscript">d</hi> sterling amounts to 900<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> sterling, &amp; <lb xml:id="l29"/>rejecting the allowance to the Clerk of the Bullion &amp; for new tools, <lb xml:id="l30"/>the remainder will be about 850<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi></hi> sterling. M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Drummond had 45<hi rend="superscript">li</hi> <lb xml:id="l31"/>sterling added to his salary by a Private Act <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> ceases with his li<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">f</add>e &amp; therefore <lb xml:id="l32"/>is not to be considered in the standing constitution of the Mint. The Generals <lb xml:id="l33"/>Office is useless &amp; <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">may be joyned to the Wardens <del type="strikethrough">upon</del></add> upon the next voidance of <del type="cancelled">the</del> either place, <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> will save <lb xml:id="l34"/>270<hi rend="superscript"><hi rend="overline">li</hi> <choice><abbr>p<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>per</expan></choice></hi> <choice><abbr>an<hi rend="overline">n</hi></abbr><expan>annum</expan></choice>.
