                <p rend="center" xml:id="par1"><hi rend="large">Brief Observations concerning the Triall of the monies <lb xml:id="l1"/>in the Pix.</hi> <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="2"/></p>
                
                <p xml:id="par2"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">1.</add> An order of her <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ty</hi></abbr><expan>Majesty</expan></choice> &amp; Council to appoint a day for tryall <lb xml:id="l2"/>of the Pix at <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> usual place neare the star chamber</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par3"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">2.</add> The Lord Chancellour sends his Letter directed to the Wardens <lb xml:id="l3"/>&amp; Company of Goldsmiths to return to him the names of an able Iury.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par4"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">3</add> The Lord Chancellour after the return of the names, sends his Warrant <lb xml:id="l4"/>by his Sergeant at Arms or his Deputy to warn the Iury to meet at the <lb xml:id="l5"/>time &amp; place.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par5"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">4</add> The Pix-box is se<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add> on the Table before nine in the morning, the <lb xml:id="l6"/>Officers of the Mint &amp; Iury attending together <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> the Excheq<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi></orig><reg>uer</reg></choice> Officers.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par6"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">5</add> The Lords being met, the Lord Chancellour calls to his Sergeant <lb xml:id="l7"/>at arms for his Warrant for summoning the Iury &amp; appoints the same <lb xml:id="l8"/>to be delivered to the Remembrancers Deputy, who attends there with <lb xml:id="l9"/>the copy of the Oath.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par7"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">6</add> The Pix box is opened by the Officers of the Mint &amp; the gold &amp; <lb xml:id="l10"/>silver therein poured upon the Table.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par8"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">7</add> The Lords being sat the Lord Chancellour causes the said Oath <lb xml:id="l11"/>to be administred to the Iury</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par9"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">8</add> The Lord Treasurer appoints the standard Troy weights &amp; <lb xml:id="l12"/>the indented Trial pieces of her <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> Crown gold moneys &amp; <lb xml:id="l13"/>standard silver moneys kept in the Treasury to be delivered for the <lb xml:id="l14"/>use of the Iury.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par10"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">9</add> The Lord Chancellour recommends to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Iury the making of the <lb xml:id="l15"/>trials of the moneys in the Pix as well in fineness as in weight, after <lb xml:id="l16"/>the most just manner as can be thought of<add place="inline" indicator="no">,</add> <del type="cancelled">to be made,</del> by fire, by water, <lb xml:id="l17"/>by touch or by weight or by all or by any of them, <del type="strikethrough">&amp; particularly by <lb xml:id="l18"/>the said stand</del> making use of the said standards of her <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> Treasury.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par11"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">10</add> The Lord Chancellour appoints the Iury when they have agreed <lb xml:id="l19"/>on their Veredict where &amp; at what time to attend his <choice><abbr>Lord<hi rend="superscript">p</hi></abbr><expan>Lordship</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l20"/>same &amp; so departs <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> the ret of the Lords.</p>
                
                <p xml:id="par12"><add place="marginLeft" indicator="no">11</add> When the Iury present their Veredict to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Lor<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">d</add> Chancellour, <lb xml:id="l21"/>the Remembrancer's Deputy attends to read it, &amp; after it is read to <lb xml:id="l22"/>receive it.</p>
