Joseph Kettle of Swinnington in the County of Stafford BlackSmith deposeth as followeth, this first day of Aprill 99. saith that he did see William Rowley of Scoctt hay in the ꝑishParish of Keele in the SdSaid County and Edward Lawson of the Same place within the Space of four yeares past coyn Severall pieces of Counterfeit money being all $\frac{1}{2}$ Crownes of King Charles and King James coyns part milld Money & part part other the mettle they made the SdSaid $\frac{1}{2}$ Crowns was Silver & brass and they made the Same thus they Set the Same in potts or cruises on the fire to melt and after melted Pourd yethe same unto Flaskes and run the Same into $\frac{1}{2}$ crownes That is into a plate to coyn the Same and the same Mole ytthat made the half Crownes made the edges thereof, and Saw them ꝑper feet the Same and ytthat he hath brought some of those half Crownes and of Less nvallue then the Same were coyned for and hath put the same away for a better value then he hath paid for them Joseph Kettle
