                <p rend="indent0" xml:id="par4">After repeating my thanks for your former many generous favours <lb xml:id="l2"/>I am forced to begg one more of another nature a friend of mine of this <lb xml:id="l3"/>Kingdom was some years ago concerning in making halfe <lb xml:id="l4"/>pence for Ireland and (as I  am given now to understand) bought <lb xml:id="l5"/>some engines in London to be employed therein in Ireland <lb xml:id="l6"/>He being a <choice><abbr>Merch<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>Merchant</expan></choice> and his occasions calling him <lb xml:id="l7"/>sudenly to the west Indies he left the Engines with <lb xml:id="l8"/>an Acquaintance of his and since closed up in

                    three boxed under the notion of Water Engines for raising of water <lb xml:id="l9"/>his friend when I was last in England suspecting probably some danger <lb xml:id="l10"/>desired my removing them alleadging want of convenience<del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">l</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">y</add> keeping <choice><abbr>ym</abbr><expan>them</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l11"/>said so and left them in London in the same boxes in which they have <lb xml:id="l12"/>bin since bought I at last entertaind some suspi<choice><orig><hi rend="overline">c</hi></orig><reg>ti</reg></choice>on tha<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add> they were not <lb xml:id="l13"/>water engines but was in hast to come thence Since coming hither <lb xml:id="l14"/>I am informed that they are Engines for making Irish half pence <lb xml:id="l15"/>and that it is dangerous on <choice><abbr>acco<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>account</expan></choice> of some acts latly made to keep any<lb xml:id="l16"/>thing of that nature in England the person <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi>.</abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> whom I left them being <lb xml:id="l17"/>wholy <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">ig</add>norant it would trouble me much to occasion to such hurt <lb xml:id="l18"/>or danger if you conceave that an Order from the Lords of the Treasury <lb xml:id="l19"/>cannot be readily had for transporting them to this Kingdom it will <lb xml:id="l20"/>prove a very great favo<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</orig><reg>ur</reg></choice> if your <choice><abbr><hi rend="overline">Lord<hi rend="superscript">ps</hi></hi></abbr><expan>Lordships</expan></choice> order then being sent to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l21"/>Mint in the Tower there to be kept till further order I know that <lb xml:id="l22"/>they have been imployed to no bad use and it will appear upon <lb xml:id="l23"/>opening of the boxes that of a long time they have not been <lb xml:id="l24"/>used I conceave that they were not employed to any bad use <lb xml:id="l25"/>the bearer knows nothing of the matter but <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi>.</abbr><expan>what</expan></choice> by Letter from <lb xml:id="l26"/>me desiring delivering thro to you and taking care of the matter <lb xml:id="l27"/>as you shall think best I think it better plainly to discover the <lb xml:id="l28"/>thing (tho at the hazard of my friends losing his Engines then <lb xml:id="l29"/>to strive to conceal such things any long<choice><orig><hi rend="superscript">r</hi>.</orig><reg>er</reg></choice> I hope <lb xml:id="l30"/>therefore you'l pardon this great trouble from <space dim="vertical" unit="lines" extent="1"/></p>
