The Informaction of Richard Jones 4th. February 16989

This Informt.Informant saith that upon the 11th. of IJanuary last past he this Informt.Informant did give upon oath before George Smith Es one of his MajtysMajestys IJustices of the peace for the County of Gloucester at the GenllGenerall Quarter Sessions there an Informaction agt.against WillmWilliam Wintoar GentGentleman and one IJoseph Millard and also agt.against one WmWilliam. Rogers and one IJohn Bacon who were two officers belonging to the Excise which Informaction was all partuallypartially true And this Informt.Informant further saith that the said Mr. Wintour and Millard not hearing thereof as this InformtInformant has heard and doth believe the said Millard did importune and desire this Informt.Informant to come and work at a Certain Still house near Wintours Dwelling house where this InformtInformant had workt for severall years at the still house and some others belonging to the said Wintour's in the Trade of Brandy Low Wines & Spirits and this Informt.Informant further saith that upon TuesdTuesday yethe 17 of IJanuary last he this Informt.Informant was actually imployd.ed in Destilling in the said Still house and that one Hoggs head of Spirritts was destilled that day and night and was concealed and carryed away without any duty being paid to the King or any accot.account taken by any officer and that upon Fryday the 20th. of IJanuary laslast past one half hoggs head of Spirrits was destilled + concealed + carryed away without any duty being paid to the King or any accot.account taken by any officer in the like mannrer as aforesaid And this Informt.Informant further saith that he had gave the said Informaction long before as he did to George Smith Esqr. at the sessions last holden for the County of Gloucester but the said Mr Wintour did formerly threaten this InformtInformant saying ytthat if he did discover his Concealemts.ents he would shoot this Informt.Informant and would certainly be his death or words to that effect Rich IJones Sworn the day + year above written before us Reginald Pyndon IJohn Corbs
