    <p xml:id="par3">The Corporatio<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">n</add> of the Moneyers represent that they have 
        <lb xml:id="l2"/>been brought up Apprentices to the trade of coining with rela<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l3"/>tion to England &amp; that to set up new Mints in England without 
        <lb xml:id="l4"/>them diminishes the right of their Apprenticeship. They represent 
        <lb xml:id="l5"/>also that the multiplying of Mints tends to promote the <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">s</add>kill of 
        <lb xml:id="l6"/>counterfeit<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">i</add>ng the gold &amp; silver moneys <add place="supralinear interlinear" indicator="yes">as happened in the coina<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">g</add>e of Tin half pence &amp; farthings in the beginning of <lb xml:id="l7"/>the reign of <choice><abbr>K.</abbr><expan>King</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Willm</abbr><expan>William</expan></choice> &amp; <choice><abbr>Q</abbr><expan>Queen</expan></choice> Mary</add>. For obvi<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>ting these objections 
        <lb xml:id="l8"/>&amp; that of the insignifican<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">c</add>y <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>f <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add> Con<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add>roller <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">alone without other checks</del> of such a Mint</add>, I humbly propose that 
        <lb xml:id="l9"/>M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Wood prepare the blanks of fin<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add> Copper &amp; make them fit to be 
        <lb xml:id="l10"/>stamped &amp; then send them to the Mint in the Tower to be delivered by 
        <lb xml:id="l11"/>weight, <del type="over">to</del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add>ssayed, &amp; stamped <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">as Counters</del></add> <del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">to</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">&amp;</add> delivered back by the same weight <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">without concerning me in the value<choice><sic>.</sic><corr type="noText"/></choice></add>. This 
        <lb xml:id="l12"/>may be done by <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add> signe Manual appointing the Assay &amp; the number 
        <lb xml:id="l13"/>of piec<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">e</add>s in the pound weight <add place="supralinear interlinear" indicator="yes">&amp; the stamp <del type="strikethrough">of the Medals or Counters</del> &amp; yearly Quan<lb xml:id="l14"/>tity without <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">the</add>m</add> &amp; what shall be allowed to <del type="strikethrough">the</del> a <lb xml:id="l15"/>Clerk fo <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">seeing the Copper weighed &amp; assayed &amp;</add> entring all receipts <del type="strikethrough">by weight</del> &amp; deliveries in books, <del type="strikethrough">&amp; seing the <lb xml:id="l16"/>copper weighed &amp; essayed.</del> &amp; acquainting me <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> what he meets with amiss.
        <lb xml:id="l17"/>The <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">whole</add> charge will <del type="strikethrough">be much the same with what <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">he</add> as as in the late copper <lb xml:id="l18"/>coynage, viz<hi rend="superscript">t</hi> about 2<formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><mfrac><mn>1</mn><mn>2</mn></mfrac></math></formula><tei:hi xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" rend="superscript">d</tei:hi> or <tei:del xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" type="cancelled">2<tei:formula><math xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"><mfrac><mn>1</mn><mn>4</mn></mfrac></math></tei:formula><tei:hi rend="superscript">d</tei:hi></tei:del></del><tei:add xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" place="supralinear" indicator="no">not exceed two per halfpenny</tei:add> per p<tei:del xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" type="over"><tei:gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></tei:del><tei:add xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" place="over" indicator="no">o</tei:add>und weight: for I reccon nothing <tei:lb xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" xml:id="l19"/><tei:del xmlns:tei="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" type="strikethrough">for <tei:del type="cancelled">medals</tei:del> my self.
