    <p xml:id="par1"><del type="strikethrough">The Memorialist saith</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">Tis <del type="strikethrough">said</del> s<del type="over"><unclear reason="del" cert="low">ia</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">u</add>ggested</add> that the Queens Assaymaster is a cheque <lb xml:id="l1"/>upon the Officers<del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> of the Mint <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; that M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Brattle being under the direction of the Officers hath acted partially</add>: whereas on the contrary, the Comptrol<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l2"/>ler is a cheque upon the whole Mint <del type="strikethrough">including the Assaymaster</del> &amp; <lb xml:id="l3"/>all the three first Officers are a che<choice><orig></orig><reg>que</reg></choice> upon the Assaymaster. For <lb xml:id="l4"/>he <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">has no trial piece of his own but</add> performs his Assays by their Trial pieces &amp; in their present <lb xml:id="l5"/>&amp; his Assays without their approbation are of no force. In <lb xml:id="l6"/>overseeing his Assays the Warden &amp; Comptroller act in behalf <lb xml:id="l7"/>of the Queen &amp; her people &amp; the Master acts for himself: &amp; <lb xml:id="l8"/>the Assaymaster <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">acts only as a manual Artificer &amp;</add> is to act with skill &amp; sincerity <del type="strikethrough">as a good Artificer</del> to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> <lb xml:id="l9"/>satisfaction of the Officers of both parties. For its easy for an Assayer <lb xml:id="l10"/>to give a turn to the Assay, of a quarter of a grain or an halfpenny <lb xml:id="l11"/>weight or above, for or against the Master. And if any such thing <lb xml:id="l12"/>be suspected, the Assayer must repeat his Assay till the Officers of the <lb xml:id="l13"/>Mint are satisfied of his acting with skill &amp; candour. <add place="lineEnd interlinear" indicator="no">And if any Importe<supplied reason="copy">r</supplied> <lb xml:id="l14"/>think himself <choice><abbr>aggr<unclear reason="hand">ied</unclear></abbr><expan>aggr<unclear reason="hand">ieved</unclear></expan></choice> he hath a remedy prescribed, <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> is an appeal not to persons not concerned, but <lb xml:id="l15"/>to a trial by the Wardens Trialpiece.</add></p>
    
    <p xml:id="par2">It was right therefore for the Lord <choice><abbr>H.</abbr><expan>High</expan></choice> Treasurer to refer <lb xml:id="l16"/>the four Petitioners to a triall before the Officers of the Mint <lb xml:id="l17"/>as the<del type="cancelled"><unclear reason="del" cert="high">ir</unclear></del> proper judges of their qualifications in print of skill.</p>
    
    <p xml:id="par3">Now the direction given to M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Brattle were no other then those given <lb xml:id="l18"/>to his brother Her <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> late Assaymaster two years before his death &amp; <lb xml:id="l19"/>they have been executed more exactly by the present M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Brattle then <lb xml:id="l20"/>by his brother, &amp; they were to <del type="strikethrough">co<gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> coin by the Trial piece of K. <choice><orig>I</orig><reg>J</reg></choice>ames<add place="supralinear interlinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">And that Trial piece by the Assays of the Mint <unclear reason="del">were</unclear> <gap reason="illgblDel" unit="words" extent="3"/> or fitt &amp; sometimes a fourth part of a <lb xml:id="l21"/>grain better then standard T<gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del></add>. The <lb xml:id="l22"/>Pot Assay pieces of the Gold coined <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> after the Trial of the Pix 1710 untill <lb xml:id="l23"/>those directions were given being melted down together &amp; assayed <del type="strikethrough">were <lb xml:id="l24"/>found to agree</del><add place="lineEnd" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough">by</del></add><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">with</add> that triall piece <del type="strikethrough">were</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">were found</add> to agree with it<choice><orig> </orig><reg/></choice><del type="strikethrough">exactly</del>, the ballance <lb xml:id="l25"/>standing at the cock. And all the <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">Gold</add> money coined since that Trial of the <lb xml:id="l26"/>Pix being <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">lately</add> tried by <del type="strikethrough">that</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">the same</add> Trial piece<add place="inline" indicator="no">,</add> <del type="cancelled">by</del> the Iury found them equal in fine<lb xml:id="l27"/>ness the scales standing at the cock. <add place="inline" indicator="no">And</add> After the money hath been found <lb xml:id="l28"/><del type="strikethrough">right</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">well coined</add> by a Iury, the Master of the Mint hath a <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">legal</add> right to be quiet against <lb xml:id="l29"/><del type="strikethrough">all men for what is past. M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Oadham &amp; his friends</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">all the Queens subjects for what is past.</add></p>
    
    <p xml:id="par4">To err within the Remedy is no crime. It only creates a <del type="cancelled">debt</del> a <lb xml:id="l30"/>reconning between the Queen &amp; the Master. If the Master has got by the <lb xml:id="l31"/><del type="strikethrough">recconing</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">error</add> he must refund his profit to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Queen: if he has lost, the Queen re<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l32"/><del type="strikethrough"><unclear reason="del" cert="high">mits</unclear></del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">turns</add> his loss. And if the error be under a quarter of a grain or an halfpenny <lb xml:id="l33"/>weight, it is neglected by ancient custome &amp; creates not so much as a <del type="over">a</del><add place="over" indicator="no">r</add>eccon<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l34"/>ing. If the error be by designe the <del type="cancelled">Ma</del> only punishment is that the Master <lb xml:id="l35"/>must be at the charge of recoining the mony before delivery. If it be <lb xml:id="l36"/>without designe the money is deliverable notwithstanding, provided the error <lb xml:id="l37"/>be within<del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> the remedy. <del type="over">A</del><add place="over" indicator="no">B</add>ut nothing less then a quarter of <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">a</add> grain <del type="over">is<gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no"><unclear reason="over" cert="low">us</unclear></add>es to <lb xml:id="l38"/>be recconned an error or taken notice of in the received method of assaying. The <lb xml:id="l39"/>Iury takes no notice of any thing less.</p>
    
    <p xml:id="par5">All the bullion is received by the Masters Triall-piece. And if <lb xml:id="l40"/>the Importe<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">r</add> <add place="supralinear" indicator="no">shal at any <supplied reason="omitted">time</supplied></add> think himself aggrieved by the Masters assay, he hath <lb xml:id="l41"/><add place="lineBeginning supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">a remedy appointed, <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> i<unclear reason="del">s</unclear></del></add> an appal to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> wardens trial piece. <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">This is his proper remedy &amp; his only remedy against the Master.</add> <del type="over">And</del><add place="over" indicator="no">But</add> if the Importers do not <lb xml:id="l42"/>appeal, there is no reason <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">why</add> th<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>se that are not <del type="over">i</del><add place="over" indicator="no">I</add>mporters <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">nor have anything to do <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint</add> should <del type="strikethrough"><unclear reason="del">compla</unclear></del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">be allowed</add> <lb xml:id="l43"/><add place="lineBeginning" indicator="no">to</add> complain<add place="inline" indicator="no">.</add> <del type="strikethrough">provided the money be coined within the remedy</del><choice><sic>.</sic><corr type="delText">.</corr></choice> They may admonish <lb xml:id="l44"/>the Importers to appeale but that have not so much as a right to appeal them<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l45"/>selves, or to give the Officers of the Mint any molestation. For the coinage is not to <lb xml:id="l46"/>be made <del type="strikethrough">impracticable</del> <del type="strikethrough">more difficult</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough">more</del></add> impracticable.</p>
    
    <p xml:id="par6">When M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Bratt<del type="over">le</del><add place="over" indicator="no">el</add> &amp; M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Oadham had a <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">comparative</add> Trial before the Officers of the <lb xml:id="l47"/>Mint, they made each <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>f them eight assays of Gold in four successive fires, two in 
        
        <fw type="catch" place="bottomRight">each</fw><pb xml:id="p100v" n="100v"/>
        
        each fire, &amp; as many of silver. Some of M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Oadhams assays <del type="strikethrough">were</del> taken from <lb xml:id="l48"/>one &amp; the same piece of gold differed from others a quarter of a grain, &amp; <lb xml:id="l49"/>one of them erred two grains <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> is three times the <del type="over"><unclear reason="del">r</unclear></del><add place="over" indicator="no">R</add>emedy, &amp; the error was <lb xml:id="l50"/>in fineness &amp; therefore not likely to be by mere accident. Whereas all M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> <lb xml:id="l51"/>Brattles <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">Gold</add> assays agreed perfectly with one another except one <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> differed from <lb xml:id="l52"/>the rest only about the twelft part of a grain, <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> is but the eighth part <lb xml:id="l53"/>of the Remedy. And almost all the coinage is in gold. M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Brattle was <lb xml:id="l54"/>also observed to handle things <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> more dexterity &amp; dispatch</p>
    
    <p xml:id="par7">At that time M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Oadham was offered a fuller trial by more assays <lb xml:id="l55"/>&amp; did not then desire it, but has since desired another trial. Had acknow<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l56"/>ledged the fairness of that trial, &amp; that he had since been learning to <lb xml:id="l57"/>assay better &amp; was now grown more skilfull then before his request <lb xml:id="l58"/>might have been granted with<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add>ut a reflexion upon the Mint: but <lb xml:id="l59"/>he pretends to have learnt his skill long ago in his Apprenticeship &amp; has <lb xml:id="l60"/><del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">ap</add>pealed from the Report of the Officers, <add place="lineBeginning supralinear interlinear" indicator="yes">If declining a Trial by an objection against some of the Petitioners, appealing from the<del type="cancelled">ir</del> Report <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">of the Officers &amp; labouring</add> is a greater objection <lb xml:id="l61"/>against M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Oadham.</add> &amp; now in opposition to it produces <lb xml:id="l62"/>a certificate of his skill in assaying signed by Merchants &amp; Goldsmiths. <lb xml:id="l63"/>But it doth not appear that his subscribers are men of note for skill in <lb xml:id="l64"/>assaying or ever met to see him make a <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">competent</add> number of successive assays <lb xml:id="l65"/>whereby they might judge of his skill. They are merchants, shopkeepers <lb xml:id="l66"/>&amp; plateworkers &amp; generally trust the assays of the Hall.</p>
    
    <p xml:id="par8">The Importers are proper Iudges not of the skill of an Assaymaster <lb xml:id="l67"/>but whether they will <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">freely</add> trust him with their bullion. Amongst his sub<lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l68"/>scribers there are only six who have imported gold within these three <lb xml:id="l69"/>years, &amp; all of them together have imported only to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> value of <lb xml:id="l70"/>about 14 thousand pounds: whereas the Importe<del type="over">d</del><add place="over" indicator="no">r</add><add place="inline" indicator="no">s</add> who have signed a <lb xml:id="l71"/>paper for M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Brattle (as I am credibly informed, for I have not <lb xml:id="l72"/>sen it) have imported to the value of <del type="cancelled">8 or</del> eight or nine hundred <lb xml:id="l73"/>thousand pounds within that time. All the Importers trust M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Brattel <lb xml:id="l74"/>freely with their bullion, but M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Oadhams credit is not yet established <lb xml:id="l75"/>among them. And a misca<add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">ria</add>ge in the Assay-Office <del type="cancelled"><unclear reason="del">is</unclear></del> would be a disc<del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">o</add><lb type="hyphenated" xml:id="l76"/>ragement to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> coinage.</p>

    <p xml:id="par9">It was very right therefore for the <choice><abbr>L<hi rend="superscript">d</hi></abbr><expan>Lord</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>H.</abbr><expan>High</expan></choice> <choice><abbr>Trearer</abbr><expan>Treasurer</expan></choice> to refer <del type="cancelled">the</del> all the <lb xml:id="l77"/>Petitioners to a trial before the Officers of the Mint &amp; it was <del type="strikethrough">irregular</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">not right</add> in <lb xml:id="l78"/>M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Oadham to appeal from their Report <del type="cancelled">to <gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><del type="strikethrough"> make <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> prop<gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="2"/></del> <del type="blockStrikethrough"><add place="inline" indicator="no">[</add>to a certificate <lb xml:id="l79"/>of persons who <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">generally</add> have little or nothing to do with the Mint, nor are men of <lb xml:id="l80"/>note for skill in assaying nor ever met to see him make severall successive <lb xml:id="l81"/>Assays whereby they might judge of his skill<add place="inline" indicator="no">.</add> <del type="strikethrough">but have been so<unclear reason="del">l</unclear></del><add place="inline" indicator="no">]</add></del>
        
        <addSpan spanTo="#addend101r-01" place="p101r-lower" startDescription="lower down f 101r" endDescription="higher up f 101r" resp="#mjh"/>to defame them <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">&amp;</add> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">to</add> make an interest against them. The increase of the coin depends <lb xml:id="l82"/>upon the credit <del type="strikethrough">with</del> of the Officers with Importers &amp; this credit is at present very <lb xml:id="l83"/>good &amp; its the interest of the Government to support it.</p>
    
    <p xml:id="par10">To say that M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Brattel being under the direction of the Officers <lb xml:id="l84"/>of the Mint hath acted partially, is to object against the very constitution <lb xml:id="l85"/>of the Mint. For the Queens <choice><abbr>Assaymast</abbr><expan>Assaymaster</expan></choice> is <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; ought to be</add> as much under the direction <lb xml:id="l86"/>of the Officers in assaying the money as M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Brattel is at present. <lb xml:id="l87"/>And the directions given<anchor xml:id="addend101r-01"/>
        
        reflect upon <lb xml:id="l88"/>them &amp; endeavour to carry his point by interest. <add place="inline interlinear" indicator="no">If declining a Trial be an objection <lb xml:id="l89"/>against <gap reason="illgbl" unit="chars" extent="3"/>a of the <del type="strikethrough">Imp</del> Petitioners <del type="strikethrough">is an objection against them</del><choice><sic>,</sic><corr type="delText"/></choice> appealing from a Report <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">of the Officers to the proper Iudges</add> is a greater <lb xml:id="l90"/>objection <choice><abbr>ag<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>against</expan></choice> M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Oadham.</add></p>
    
    <p xml:id="par11">The directions given to M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Brattel <choice><orig>– – – –</orig><reg/></choice> against all the Queens subjects <lb xml:id="l91"/>for <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">t</hi></abbr><expan>what</expan></choice> is past. <del type="blockStrikethrough">The increase of the coin depends upon the credit of the Mint <lb xml:id="l92"/>with Importers, &amp; this credit is at present very good, &amp; its the interest of <lb xml:id="l93"/>the government to support it against irregular assaults.</del></p>
    
    
    
    <p xml:id="par12">Before the late trial of the Pix the Master of the Mint <del type="strikethrough">orders <lb xml:id="l94"/>preventing</del> <add place="lineEnd" indicator="no">for</add> <add place="supralinear" indicator="no">obviating</add> complaints <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> might arise, ordered the money for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Assay <lb xml:id="l95"/>to be kept from time to time to be reassayed by the Queens <choice><abbr>Assaym<hi rend="superscript">r</hi></abbr><expan>Assaymaster</expan></choice> so soo <lb xml:id="l96"/>as there should be one appointed by her <choice><abbr>Maj<hi rend="superscript">ty</hi></abbr><expan>Majesty</expan></choice>. And now he ordered <lb xml:id="l97"/>the like to be done for the future<add place="inline" indicator="no">.</add> <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="3"/></del> Which is the utmost care that <lb xml:id="l98"/>he <del type="strikethrough">is able to</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">can</add> <del type="over"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del><add place="over" indicator="no">t</add>ake for <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> satisfaction of people in this matter &amp; for keeping <lb xml:id="l99"/>up the credit of the Mint.</p>
    
    <p xml:id="par13">All the Bullion is received by the Masters trial piece. And if the <lb xml:id="l100"/>Importer at any time thinks himself injured by the Masters <del type="cancelled">trialpi</del> <lb xml:id="l101"/>Assays he hath a remedy appointed by law, <choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">ch</hi></abbr><expan>which</expan></choice> remedy is an appeal <lb xml:id="l102"/>to the Wardens trial piece. But the Importers do not appeal &amp; if they <lb xml:id="l103"/>do not complain of the Masters assays, those that are not Importers nor <lb xml:id="l104"/>have any thing to do with the Mint should not be allowed to complain.</p>

    <p xml:id="par15">By the constitution of the Mint the Master &amp; Worker receives <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">&amp; coins</add> <lb xml:id="l105"/>all the Bullion of gold &amp; silver by his own trial-piece<add place="supralinear" indicator="yes"><del type="strikethrough">&amp; is <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="words" extent="1"/> &amp;</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="no"><del type="strikethrough">to</del></add> judg<del type="over">in</del><add place="over" indicator="no">e<del type="cancelled">d</del></add>d of its fineness by his own assays<add place="inline" indicator="no">.</add> <del type="strikethrough">al<gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="5"/></del></del></add>. The Importer <lb xml:id="l106"/>hath at all times an Appeal from the Masters Assays to <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">a trial by</add> <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Wardens trial <lb xml:id="l107"/>piece: And the Queen &amp; <del type="strikethrough">her subjects have an</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">all her people have an</add> Appeal to <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Trial piece <lb xml:id="l108"/>of the Exchequer at <del type="strikethrough">the</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="no">every</add> trial of the Pix. If any Importer is dissatisfied <lb xml:id="l109"/><choice><abbr>w<hi rend="superscript">th</hi></abbr><expan>with</expan></choice> the Masters Assays &amp; will appeale to a trial by the Wardens <lb xml:id="l110"/>Trial piece: the Queen &amp; Council or <del type="over"><choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice></del><add place="over" indicator="no">the</add> Lord <choice><abbr>H.</abbr><expan>High</expan></choice> Treasurer may appoint <lb xml:id="l111"/>any <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">indifferent</add> person <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">or persons</add> skilled in Assaying <del type="strikethrough">&amp; the Appellant may appoint another</del> to stand <lb xml:id="l112"/>by &amp; see the whole Trial. But if the Importers do not complain, M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> <lb xml:id="l113"/>Oadham &amp; his friends <del type="strikethrough">have no right to do it. They &amp; all the <del type="strikethrough"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> meddle</del><add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">who are not Importers have no right <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> to appeal complain or <choice><sic>intermedde</sic><corr>intermedde</corr></choice> with <choice><abbr>y<hi rend="superscript">e</hi></abbr><expan>the</expan></choice> Mint</add>. They <lb xml:id="l114"/>&amp; all the Queens subjects will have justice done them at the next trial of <lb xml:id="l115"/>the Pix. And in the mean time <del type="strikethrough">M<hi rend="superscript">r</hi> Oadham &amp; his friends</del> <add place="supralinear" indicator="yes">they</add> are not to discourage <lb xml:id="l116"/>the <del type="cancelled"><gap reason="illgblDel" unit="chars" extent="1"/></del> importation of bullion into her <choice><abbr>Ma<hi rend="superscript">ts</hi></abbr><expan>Majestys</expan></choice> Mint. But if they desire a hearing <lb xml:id="l117"/>before the Queen &amp; Council, the Officers of the Mint <del type="strikethrough">are ready</del> do not decline <lb xml:id="l118"/>it.</p>
