The humble PeticonPetition of Hopton Haines

Sheweth

That yoryour PeticonrPetitioner sometime before and severall years since the Revolution acted for Thomas Hall Esqr in the station of Kings cheifchief Clerk and Clerk of the papers in his matiesmajesties Mint in the Tower of London

That at the begining of the late Grand Coynage. He at the Instance of some of the principall officers then in the Mint quitted a settled Employ to serve the publick on that extraordinary occasion and instructed the officers and Clerks of the 9 Country Mints

That dureing the Grand Coynage he supervised and examined the Books and Accompts of all the six Mints

That in 1697 He was recommended to the favour of this HonbleHonourable Board by all the Principall officers of the Mint viva voie.

That yoryour PeticonrsPetitioners behaviour, Loyalty & qualifications are particularly known to, & will be attested by Tho. Hall Esqr of the Excise & Isaac Newton Esqr Master & worker of the Mint. and are not he beleivesbelieves unknown to SrSir Ino Stanley the Warden of the Mint
