Thomas Smart Bedell of Thieving Lane Ward in S^t. Margarets ꝑish Westm^r. deposeth that abo^ts. one of the Clock on Sunday morning he went to the house of Iohn Penniston (being the Feather Tavern in Kingstreet westm^r.) to see what company was there and here saw Iosiah|s|^s {sic} Bellon whose wife is sister to M^rs. Penniston the wife of the said Iohn Pen̄yston and asking what man that was M^rs. Pennyston made answer that it was one of her Lodgers a very {evill} man and the Deponent asking how he should know that she answered that he should be forthcomeing in the morn And the Deponent returning within less then an hour with Iohn White constable and William Blackshaw Bedell the said M^rs. Pennyston own that the man above menioned whom this Depon^t had seen there before was Iosias Bellon her sisters husband and said that he was just gone home and she would see him forthcoming in the morning
