To the Rt Honble the Lords Commrs of th{e}|Hi||s| Majties Treasury

May it please your Lordps

In Obedience to your Lordps Order of Reference that I should report my opinion upon the Petition of Mr William Wood for a Warrant to furnish the Mint with fine copper in barrs duly sized at 1712d per Lwt after the 30 Tunns agreed for at 18d per Lwt to be coined, I humbly represent that if Mr Wood will furnish the Mint with such copper, prepared by the battering Mills, as the specimen was which I had of him, I am re{illeg}|a|dy to receive a Tonn or two every Month at that price till next {illeg}e|Mi|chaelmas, or longer if there be occasion. But if he intends to prepare it some other way, of which he has not yet given me a specimen I desire that a specimen of such work as he intends to furnish me with, may be sent into the Mint to be assayed before he begins to bring in a great quantity.

All which is most humbly submitted to your

Lordps
