Letter concerning the melting of money in Scotland into ingots

To the R^t Hon^ble the Lord High Treasurer of great Britain.

May it please yo^r Lord^p

In obedience to your Lord^ps Order of Reference of the 23^th Instant upon the annexed Memorial of the Commissioners M^r Rutherford, M^r Brown & M^r Bruce, in w^ch they desire a summ at present in part of the reward for executing their Commission, & refer the residue thereof to yo^r Lord^ps consideration after the business shall be over: we have considered the same & their bu{c}|s|iness being to receive the old money of Scotland from the Bank & see the same melted into Ingots & to deliver the Ingots to be coined & keep an account of the whole & certify the deficiency (all w^ch require attendance & fidelity;) we humbly propose that they may receive at present, One hundred pounds a piece for themselves & sixty pounds for their Clerk & servants, in all 360 pounds to be paid out of the same fund out of w^ch M^r Allardes is paid for melting the money into Ingots in their presence.

All which is most humbly submitted to yo^r Lordships great
